With all of the vacations being cancelled, and concert tickets refunded it’s left all of us with lot of time and extra cash on-hand which is why home improvement projects are filling your feeds!
While 2020 hasn’t been much to brag about, we can’t help but gush over these flooring trends – after all, it’s the little things, right?
Trend no. 1: Black & White Tile
Many homes turn to tile in areas where the flooring can sometimes be exposed to water, for example kitchens and bathrooms.
This year, homeowners are being more bold with their tile choices by choosing custom, black and white tile designs to add a little drama.
Trend no. 2: Wood Patterns
Straight wood flooring? SO last year! We’re kidding… sort of.
If you love the easy upkeep of wood floors but you’d like something with an edgier design, try mixing up the pattern! There’s plenty to choose from, including diagonal basket, square basket, herringbone (pictured below), and double herringbone – just to name a few.
Trend no. 3: Terrazzo
This flooring originated in Italy (Terrazzo = “Terrace”) and gained popularity among Americans in the 1920s. Now, after a century, the durable flooring design is back and better than ever with its endless color combinations, easy-to-clean material and sophisticated style.
Did you know the Hollywood Walk of Fame is made from black terrazzo?!
