Installation Day: What to Expect
Before your new flooring is installed, we’ll review the entire process with you—so you know exactly what’s coming.
Some important notes:
- The subfloor must be clean, level, and ready for installation
- We recommend moving furniture, rugs, and home décor out of the installation area in advance
- We do not disconnect or reconnect gas appliances, toilets, pedestal sinks, dishwashers, or similar fixtures
- We suggest you clear a path to the installation area so our team can easily carry in tools and supplies
- We can discuss the need to remove doors or baseboards prior to installation
- Please keep children and pets safely away from the installation area during the project
- We will haul away any existing flooring materials we need to remove
- We may need to assess old flooring or damage from water damage, previous owners, or home remodels
- We’ll provide review maintenance instructions for long-term care

Manufacturer warranties apply to all purchases from Carpetland USA, whether or not installation is included. These warranties come directly from the manufacturer or distributor, not Carpetland USA, though Carpetland will assist customers with warranty claims when possible.
We offer a free, in-home pre-measure and do our best to provide a fair and accurate installation quote up front, but sometimes unexpected issues come up that may affect the final cost. All proposals are valid for 30 days from the date of issuance.
We understand that subfloor issues or uneven surfaces can be stressful to uncover. If we notice a problem during your installation, we’ll explain what’s going on, walk you through your options, and only move forward with your approval so there are no surprises and you feel confident in the solution.
For safety reasons, our installers aren’t able to disconnect or reconnect items like gas appliances, refrigerators with icemakers, toilets, pedestal sinks, freestanding tubs, dishwashers, or washing machines. If your project involves any of these, we recommend working with a licensed plumber or electrician. We’re happy to help coordinate timing so everything goes smoothly on installation day.
